5k TIME TRIAL

Well the weather forecast is looking great so our first 5k time trial is on for this Sunday at 7am (24th July).  Meet near the new pergola in the park at the lake on the cnr of Lakeside Cres and Grand Ave.  We will have the big Flakers banner up so you shouldn't be able to miss us.   The course is 2 laps of the lake with a bit extra, I have measured it and re-measured it so it should be quite accurate.  We will time the event and post the times on the blog and then in 8 weeks when the next time trial comes around we can check our improvements.  If you do have a stopwatch wear it still as being the first event it will help in any hiccups with the timing, though it should all run smoothly!  Afterwards we are having a sausage sizzle so a great way to get to know some of the members in the group.  It is $2 for the sausage sizzle just to cover catering costs.  That will get you a sausage on bread, a popper, tea or coffee and a few little bits and pieces :)   Also you may want to throw a camping chair in the back of your car for sitting in the park afterwards in comfort!  Really look forward to seeing a lot of Flakers out on Sunday.
